This may well be the winter season when I finally break down and knit some slippers.
I really love the idea of knit slippers, but I worry that something that’s in contact with the floor so much would wear out even faster than knit socks, which already can get tattered pretty quickly.
That’s why I like these felted slippers called Twinkle Toes from the book Fun and Fantastical Slipper Knits by Mary Scott Huff.
The pattern is worked from heel to toe, with the ruffle at the top of the foot worked separately. The slipper is assembled and felted, then leather soles are added for extra durability.
A free subscription is required to download, but these are pretty darn cute, they just might be worth it.
