Red Heart has a fun new chenille yarn made for baby projects called Cutie Pie, a lightweight polyester yarn that come in eight colors and is machine washable.

While a few colors are showing as out of stock on the website right now, you may be able to find them locally, and even if you don’t use the yarn in question, you’ll want to check out these adorable projects developed for the yarn.
The Coral Cutie Hat and Booties and the Square on Square Baby Blanket are really cute and pretty easy, too. The hat and booties are worked flat in Garter Stitch, while the blanket is worked from the outside in, in Garter Stitch in the round.
They are really cute, fun projects that are sure to brighten any baby’s nursery, and even with lightweight yarn they should be pretty quick to knit.
Have you been working on any baby things lately? I’d love to know what you’re making.

What a nice, simple baby blanket! I love using Red Heart, but I also find some treasures just browsing at the craft store. I recently bought several skeins of Yarn Bee’s Soft Secret to make a blanket from my cousin’s baby.
