Some people know it’s fall because pumpkin spice everything is available; knitters know it’s fall because the Deep Fall issue of Knitty has been released!
This one is a doozy, with more than 20 patterns for hats, mitts, socks, scarves and sweaters. There’s so much cute stuff I don’t even know what to say. Because my daughter is a huge rainbow fan I like the Double Rainbow pullover, which is mostly simple gray Stockinette but includes rainbow rings on the sleeves. I may have to devise a tiny version of this one…
Because I’ve been thinking about knee socks lately (though I’m contemplating lots of stripes) I’m drawn to Ridley, pretty socks with cables, ribs and a little classic sport sock styling. The Hybrid Hat is a fun combo of a crocheted top with knit brim, and Dreaming of Shetland is a gorgeous colorwork beret. I love colorwork for fall and winter so I’ve got my eye on this one, too.
And the Nymphalidea shawl may just be the next big shawl pattern. It uses mesh stitch edging with solid welts between and uses a semisolid and a more wildly colored sock yarn for lots of visual interest.
See anything you like? I’d love to know what you’re queuing up!
