I love the idea of a long vest (or sleeveless cardigan, if you will) as a way to add a bit of knitting to an outfit without adding a lot of warmth.
The Bailar Vest by Susanna IC for Knit Picks is a duster length, open front vest with lace panels on the fronts and back, bordered with a bit of Stockinette. The lace pattern requires paying attention on both sides of the project, so this isn’t a beginner lace pattern, but it’s definitely worth the effort for a great little garment to wear over a long dress (or even a short dress, if you like).
The pattern is worked in fingering weight yarn and is available in 10 sizes with a chest measurement ranging from 40.5 inches to 76.5 inches. It can be worn with a lot of ease, or less if you prefer.
You can download this pattern alone or the ebook of knit lace patterns it is included in from Knit Picks.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
