This project idea from Dolly Creates is a cute idea for your own kitchen or to make as a hostess gift or to thank someone for helping you with a messy job.
The monogrammed dishcloth shown in her pattern uses the letter E, but it would be easy enough to swap out a different letter if you need to. You can draw your own to go in the space (hers is 33 stitches across and 45 rows tall) or you can just find a charted alphabet online that comes pretty close to the same size (I have some over on About you could try).
This project is a great way to start if you’ve never added a design to a project before, because it’s just worked in garter stitch. And that little letter makes a simple washcloth just a little more special, even if you’re just knitting it for yourself.

Why use dishcloths? Dishcloths are re-useable and save on kitchen waste. Most dishcloths are made using cotton yarn and can be thrown into the washing machine when dirty. This makes them very hygienic, especially when compared to kitchen sponges, which sit on the sinks for days if not weeks. Another great thing about dishcloths is when it comes to knitting the knit up quickly and are great for gift giving. Everyone needs a dishcloth. For gifting, It’s not something that has to be in fashion or a certain colour for the recipient to like it, though there are so many great dishcloth pattern designs out there.
