Recently I started the Every Way Wrap, from Interweave Fall 2009. I love cables, and the moss stitch part was pretty also. I chose a silk/merino blend handdyed from Yarn Hollow and happily cast on! (is there any other way to cast on?).
And then frogged. Was I suddenly incapable of cables? Did I forget how to read a chart? What in the world…..And re-started. And frogged. And re-started….. take 2 aspirin and repeat! (I think I restarted this 5 times, not the sharpest knife in the drawer…), when it occurred to me….. ERRATA!
So I http’d over to Interweave Knit’s Errata page, and sure enough, the charts were mixed up. I don’t see this as a flaw in any publisher’s system, I see it as a wonderful resource, and I thank Interweave Knit (in this case) for this service.
Now that I’ve got my a’s and b’s all crossing correctly with my c’s and d’s, it is beautiful, and some day I shall wear it! Lesson…. don’t assume it’s you, go to the publisher’s web site and see if there is a correction published. Well, ok, usually it is me, but in this case I was indemnified and it all worked out! YAY!!
Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
Thank you for letting us know about this. I’m getting ready to cast on this project in January and would be pulling my hair out.
