I told you back in July about the emPower People project, which encourages people to knit or crochet a purple headscarf or cowl to be worn when voting and engaging in other civic activities like gatherings or marches, with the idea that it will spark conversation and engagement around social justice issues.
Since the original pattern was published there’s also been a brioche pattern designed by Nancy Marchant.
Romi Hill has also designed a lace version, and I also see a colorwork chart of the word vote that you can add to the original design if you want to make its purpose a little more obvious. That one is just the chart and it was designed by Willow Dawn.
Are you knitting anything special for when you go to the polls or for Election Day? Whatever your voting plan is you can still accessorize!
