I’ve been sharing lots of knitting patterns lately that use just a little bit of mosaic knitting because sometimes that’s a good way to learn a new technique, but in truth mosaic knitting is easy enough that you can do a big mosaic project as your first mosaic knitting project.
I might recommend the Islander by Melanie Berg. This striking shawl features color shifting diamonds in a sort of latticework effect.
It’s really pretty and not at all hard to execute. The pattern calls for holding two strands of lace weight yarn together, or use a single strand of sport weight if that’s what you have on hand.
The pattern is available on Ravelry for €5.50.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
