After narrowing the field from 64 to two, knitters voting at Mason Dixon Knitting declared the Oban Cardigan by Thea Coleman the top knit of 2019.
It’s easy to see why this classic cabled cardigan caught the eye of voters: it has plenty of cables to keep the knitting fun, great little patch pockets, sweet Garter Stitch button bands and collar that do their job without detracting from the overall design.
You can grab the pattern for yourself for $8 on Ravelry, or check out the rest of the final four: Love Note by Tin Can Knits, Black Sesame Ice Cream (socks) by Clare Devine and the Woodland Loafers from Claire Slade. It’s so fun to see the variety of patterns that people really love!

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
