This week’s favorite from the vaults of my knitting board on Pinterest is a post from Tricksy Knitter on how to knit ruffles. As you can see from the picture there are tons of different ways to add a ruffle to knitting, and these are not even all of the options.
This post offers a roundup of all the different ruffles that have been explored on the Tricksy Knitter site, with links so you can quickly find the ones you want to learn more about.
I love the corkscrew ruffle, which I think would be adorable at the top of a little girl’s sock, and the gathered eyelet ruffle, a classic that gets you a ruffle and extra embellishment when you thread a ribbon through the eyelets.
Something about spring has me ready to break out the ruffles! Do you ever knit ruffles? I’d love to hear how you use them.

I’m knitting the Lintilla Shawl, it uses short rows to create the ruffles.

I wish I’d seen this last week! Oy vey! I was working on a skirt for a mermaid, and I wanted it to be really ruffly. Oh, well. I’ll save this for next time.
