I found this pattern on Knit Purl’s site. While definitely not your weekend knitting project (it’s knit on size 1.5 needles), it most certainly qualifies as a “takes concentration” pattern. I believe knitty.com refers to these as piquant!
Gorgeous pattern though, and I have been told that knee highs are back in style (at least up here in the cold, snowy north!).

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
You bet that’s piquant! Cookie A is a great sock designer – but pretty much always piquant.
I can’t let my daughter see these – she’s a knee sock nut. I made her one pair for her birthday and now she thinks she needs more.
