Have you heard of sequence knitting? Cecelia Campochiaro wrote a book on the subject, which is a method for using simple repeats of stitches to make sometimes complex patterns.
The book is big and rather intimidating, but Catherine Lowe adapted a stitch pattern from it to make her Parallelogram Sequence Scarf, which gives knitters a glimpse of the concepts without the book, which runs nearly 400 pages.
The design is worked flat and on the bias, providing that parallelogram shape, and the merino wool used for the sample makes the stitch pattern pop.
You can grab the pattern for free from Churchmouse Yarns.
