As knitters we hope that our projects will provide good memories for the people who use them, but one Scottish knitter has a very special comfort project in mind and needs dog owners’ help.
She contacted Love Crafts because she was looking for dog hair yarn to use to knit a sweater for her mother. The mother lost her Yorkie six years ago and is too old to get another dog but still misses the comfort of a dog.
The knitter thinks a dog fur sweater would give her some comfort and told Love Knitting she’s willing to pay up to £100 for 500 grams of fur.
I don’t know if she’s found what she is looking for, but if you have a black or white non-hypoallergenic dog and would be willing to help, check out the post for more information.

A lady in Canada knit beautiful sweaters from her dog’s long fur, no matter how she cleaned the sweaters every time it rained or snowed the wearer smelt like wet dog! Something to think about. Another thought maybe the mother could foster a dog until it is adopted. Have a great day, thoughts from Canada.
