Socks Fit for a Witch (Or a Mom)

April 16, by Sarah White. 3 Comments

hermione everyday sock knitting patternI was thinking again about Hermione’s Everyday Socks, a fantastic (and free) sock pattern from Erica Lueder.

It’s a rather old pattern, first published in 2009, and I started knitting mine several years after that but maybe only finished them last year (not the fault of the pattern at all, but my ridiculous second sock syndrome).

I don’t think I ever told you about them. They have this simple pattern of purl bumps that makes the knitting and the look of the sock a lot more interesting than plain old Stockinette, without much more effort.

I knit mine in a Malabrigo sock yarn that is tones of blue, and for a while I couldn’t decide if the pattern was worth it in that yarn.

It was totally worth it.

I think a mom you know who has feet might like some of these. Or knit them for yourself. Or both.

Have you knit this pattern before? I’d love to know what you thought of it.

I have never loom knit socks before so I’m sure it’s possible but I don’t know how to convert.
