I know that I should be thinking more about knitting for spring, but I just can’t bring myself to do it when there is still snow in the immediate forecast.
So instead I will just leave this here in case you are already thinking about knits for spring and summer. The Feminine Touch has whipped up a really pretty — and pretty simple — lace bolero that has ribbed edgings and an easy eyelet repeat for the body of the bolero.
It’s mostly knit flat, then folded and seamed a tiny bit to make armholes. Then you pick up stitches around the outside for a ribbed border and you’re done.
This is a really cute project and a great introduction to lace if you’ve never done it before. It’s also worked with a slightly heavier (and cotton) yarn than is typically used for lace knitting, so you should be able to finish yours up before the weather warms.
Are you knitting for spring yet? I’d love to know what’s on your needles.

Knit for Spring/Summer? What are these seasons of which you write!? Wacky weather here in North Carolina – 70’s yesterday, winter storm warning today!
Just about finished with a cute winter shawl so maybe next I’ll try some more lace knitting. This one is very pretty.
