I almost forgot it’s Groundhog Day, one of my favorite slightly ridiculous holidays. It was one my family celebrated when I was in high school, and I still love it.
There aren’t a lot of knit groundhog patterns, but here are a couple that are pretty darn cute. If you know of others, please let me know!
Godfrey the Groundhog by Anna Hrachovec shows a groundhog peeping out of his burrow, complete with a fancy top hat. His pattern is $5.
There’s also the Little Groundhog pattern from Ashley Hawthorne, which is indeed a little groundhog. That pattern costs $1.60.

I’ve been writing about knitting online for a long time, and a lot of things have changed. But one good thing I think has changed over the years is that fewer people see knitting as a seasonal activity. Most people don’t seem to think anymore that there’s a time when it’s too hot to knit or too hot to wear knits.
