This one is a little old, but if you haven’t seen it yet it’s definitely worth a look. Ravelry user KnitsforLife decided she wanted to do something extra special with her holiday pies this past Thanksgiving, so she knit the top crust for her pies. She says it took her about three hours, and while it was sticky and messy it was kind of like playing with playdough.
She used prepared pie crust from Trader Joe’s, but I’m sure you could use whatever dough product or recipe you like to make your knit lattice.
Not content to stop playing with her food, she also took a turn knitting peel and pull Twizzlers (she didn’t actually knit them with the candy canes), which might be cute for a cupcake topper for a knitter’s birthday.
Have you ever knit with food stuffs? I’d love to hear about it!
