I am a big fan of big cardigans. I love to throw them on housecoat style as I lounge around the house, and as the weather starts to get cooler I will wear a cardigan instead of a coat throughout the fall (and let’s be honest, probably under my coat in winter).
The Beachrock Cardigan from Berroco caught my eye because it’s a good length, has nice ease (4 to 6 inches) and looks cozy and squishy. It’s worked in broken rib, which is easy to knit but not as plain as Stockinette or Garter Stitch. And it’s meant to be worn open, so there are no button and buttonhole bands to work.
I’d knit the sleeves to full length because I always feel like three-quarter sleeves look like a mistake on me, but otherwise this looks like a great pattern.
It’s available in the Berroco Portfolio Volume 5 booklet, or buy this pattern individually online for $6.
