I tend to be pretty traditional in the knitting projects that I choose. I like pullovers and open cardigans. Sometimes I’ll knit a cardigan with buttons but I usually don’t use them.
While there’s a bit of intimidation factor involved in installing a zipper into a knit project, it’s really not that hard to do and it gives a project a great, polished look.
The Coastal Zip Up by Winter’s Weather Knits is a great option for fall and winter wear. It includes that zipper closure and lots of great details like double-layer cuffs, collar and hems, big pockets and raglan shaping.
It comes in nine sizes for bust measurements from 36 to 68 inches, and 5-7 inches of positive ease is recommended so you can wear it as outerwear.
You can download a copy of the pattern from Ravelry.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
