It could be because I have two out-of-town trips in less than a month, or just because it’s almost summer and I don’t have any brain waves left to think about knitting, but I really want to be knitting something really simple and useful right now.
This triangle shawl from Purl Avenue is just about as simple as triangle shawls can get. It’s worked in Stockinette Stitch with increases on the knit rows. You could also make it in Garter Stitch and only increase every other row.
Either way, you work until you have a triangle of the size you’d like (or until you’re starting to get scared about running out of yarn), bind off, block and you have a great little shawl.
The yarn shown is cotton yarn, which would make it perfect for summer, or go with bamboo for a slinkier look. Or maybe linen? There are so many possibilities.
