I love simple sweater patterns, but it’s also nice when there’s a little something extra in there to keep you entertained as a knitter.
Aftensol from DROPS Design looks like a fun one because it’s a top-down raglan worked in the round, which means you get the interesting increasing part right at the top.
It also incorporates a lace design into the yoke and uses yarn overs for the raglan increases.
Once you get through all that, it’s smooth (and quick, on size 8 US knitting needles) sailing in Stockinette Stitch in the round all the way down to the ribbing.
The three-quarter sleeves make this a great transitional piece, too. The chosen yarn is mostly alpaca and wool, but you could work it in a different fiber to make it a lighter sweater for the end of summer, too.
