I don’t know why springtime always makes me want to dye yarn. Maybe it’s because it’s so fun to dye yarn with leftover Easter egg dye, or dandelions, or strawberries.
So when I saw this article on dyeing yarn with natural materials, I knew I had to share it.
I Am Kate takes you through all the basics, necessary materials and how to make and use dye from different materials.
Her tumblr is full of hand-dyed inspiration and how-tos, as well, so make sure and check it out (and I’m definitely thinking about dyeing yarn with black beans — it makes blue!)
Have you done any natural dyeing before? I’d love to hear about it.
