Knit a Little Toy Soldier for the Tree

December 15, by Sarah White. Leave a Comment

knit toy soldier christmas ornamentI was tempted to call this one a tin soldier — or a wool soldier! — but even if you just call it a toy soldier it’s super adorable and easy to knit.

JustJen made this sweet little guy as a Christmas ornament, and it’s quick to make with scarp yarn. The body is worked in one piece, with arms added on and lots of stitched details for extra cuteness.

Of course it’s classic in black and red, but it might be fun to make a rainbow of toy soldiers using a bunch of different bits of scrap yarn.

I love the idea of a garland of soldiers, or using them to decorate gift bags. So sweet!
