I love the look of log cabin knitting and shared a simple log cabin dishcloth design last year. I’m thinking hard about doing a full blanket this year, but if you’ve never tried the technique you might want to start with a smaller project.
Fringe Association shared an awesome free pattern for log cabin mitts. Karen Templer designed them as part of the Fringe and Friends Logalong, which is wrapping up at the end of February, but you still have time to stitch these up if you want to take part (or make them any other time of year).
They’re a great introduction to the concepts used in log cabin knitting and are a lovely way to keep your hands warm, whether you make it a multicolored, scrap-busting project or only use a couple of colors.
