Moasic knitting is having a moment. It’s such a fun and easy way to add a little colorwork to projects, but you never used to see much of it. Now I feel like it’s been popping up in lots of different places over the past year or so and I love it.
It’s not at all a difficult technique but if you want to start with a project that has just a little bit of mosaic, there are lots of great options (I shared one earlier this month, in fact.)
The Rogue River Cowl by Kay Hopkins is another fun option. This bandanna style cowl is worked flat as a bias knit triangle, with mosaic along one edge and stripes throughout the rest of the pattern. This is a great use for mini skeins, a mulitcolored yarn or stash busting little odd balls. You’re always working with just one color per row so it’s super easy.
When you’re done you sew a little seam at the back to turn it into a cowl. So cute!
The pattern is available on Ravelry for $7.
