I recently got into double knitting, where you make two stockinette surfaces at once in two different colors, and while I’ve been meaning to make a double knit potholder for a while, I haven’t quite gotten to it yet (the “to knit” list is always longer than the time available for knitting!).
But this double knit potholder from Laura’s Knits (available as a free Ravelry download) is a really cute choice for people who don’t want to design their own. It’s a really simple and pretty pattern of four hearts linked with a little cross shape. Worked in red and white cotton yarn, this is also a pretty inexpensive project, and the double knitting makes it a really fun technique. Knit this one around non-knitters and they’ll think you’re magic.
