The Knitty surprises for summer came out the other day, and I’m loving this one, designed by Amy Singer herself.
The Ombis is a meshy, lacy, almost crochet-looking wrap with armholes that might be a vest, or a swimsuit coverup that doesn’t really cover anything.
What it is, though, is a really fun looking pattern with a pretty easy stitch pattern that will be meditative when you get into it, and that’s a fun playground for lots of different colors, or a multicolored yarn or two.
There’s also Sarah Hatton’s Noland sweater, a sweet little open-front cardigan worked in mohair yarn with lace panels at the center front. A little more of a challenge, surely, but also a great weightless layer to add a little style to summer outfits.
