I am of the age that flannel was cool when I was a teenager, and I still like plaid and flannel for their homey look and feel.
The Boldly Colored Plaid Afghan from Patons (the pattern is linked on this page from Knitting Bee) is a really fun pattern and an easy way to bring some color into your living room, or wherever you need a snuggly blanket.
I think I’d make mine in blue, green and gray, or a classic red, white and black like my flannel shirts of old.
The little pillow is super cute, too.

Fall will be here before we know it, and that means there are holidays coming right behind where we might be entertaining at home. It’s always fun to have a hand knit touch in your home for other people to see, and if you’re going to be in the kitchen all day you might as well have some nice knit dish cloths to use.
