Owls tend to be associated with Halloween, so having the spooky holiday coming up is all the reason I need to knit an owl.
The Obligatory Owl pattern from Rabbit Hole Knits (aka Sara Elizabeth Kellner) is knit in the round and can be worked with the owl facing forward or to the side. The wings are also worked in the round and the attached to the body. Embroidery can be used to embellish the wings, body or head, or all three.
You’ll want to click over to the pattern page on Ravelry and see all the cute variations people have made, then download the free pattern to make your own.

I guess the trend of little scarves and bandanas isn’t going away, and there’s a good reason for that. These little projects are fast, and they’re good for beginners because of the low commitment and they make something that doesn’t necessarily look like a beginner made it.
