Knitting Pattern – Knit a Super Simple Cat Bed

August 10, by Sarah White. 1 Comment

knit cat bedIt seems like all cats love yarn, and most of the cats I have known have been interested in trying to get in my lap while I knit. It’s not really safe to let kitties play with yarn, but we can give them something knit that is just for them.

You may have seen the Cat Crochet Couch or lounges that are very popular right now and this is a fun knitted cat bed in similar style.

Kayleigh shares a super simple knit cat bed idea over at A Beautiful Mess, and it’s easy enough even for new knitters to make.

The bed is a long knit rectangle, worked in super bulky yarn, so it’s a super fast project, too. The rectangle is sewn into a loop and cinched up at one end to make a basket for your kitty to snuggle in.

I don’t know if my cat would actually use such a bed, but it’s super cute and if you have a cat who loves snuggling down into tight spaces this might be just the thing to keep them away from your knitting project.

Have you ever knit a cat cave or cat bed? Did your cat actually use it? I’d love to hear about it!

I haven’t knit a cat bed, but have made several small 100% wool cat blankies for my daughter’s dining room chairs. Her cats love them, and they keep the chair seats clean.
