The Fibre Company has a great collection of yarns, and to celebrate its Savannah DK yarn, the company is hosting a design contest.
Would-be designers are asked to use the yarn to knit a “summer sweater,” by which they mean anything from a light cardigan to a tank top. Final pictures of the designs are to be uploaded to Instagram on Sept. 30, when five finalists will be chosen.
The public will get to vote for their favorite, and the winning design will get $200, reimbursement for the yarn purchased to make the design, an interview published on the blog and inclusion with credit in the company’s spring/summer 2014 pattern collection.
The yarn is a blend of wool, cotton yarn, linen and soya that looks kind of rustic and come in 17 heathered shades.
Sounds pretty sweet. I’m seriously thinking about entering this one…
